The National Advocacy Qualification is a qualification that has been funded and developed by the Department of Health, together with advocacy organisations and commissioners over the past two years.
The introduction of two forms of statutory advocacy, Independent Mental Capacity Advocates (IMCAs) and Indepedent Mental Health Advocates (IMHAs) led to the recognition of the need for greater focus on quality and consistenct across the advocacy sector.
Please read further information on the structure of the qualification, training and assessment and some key questions that you may have.
